Pièces détachées — Grosse fugue / Duo d'Eden / Ça quand même

Three short pieces trace a sensitive constellation in Maguy Marin's universe, each a different breath. In Grosse fugue, bodies launch, brush, aggregate and disperse, swept by a near-savage collective pulse between vitality and despair, driven by Beethoven's Grande Fugue. Duo d'Eden narrows the space: two presences — perhaps two lovers in the garden of Eden — seek, confront and tame each other in a fragile, carnal tension where every gesture becomes a confession.

Ça quand même began as a text by Maguy Marin with music by Denis Mariotte, for two bodies and their multiplied images, in which the intimate daily life of the arts — its worrying injunctions of efficiency and communication — surfaces and threatens the creative process. Total runtime: 1h40 including intervals.
