A L T E R * É G * O

A L T E R * É G * O is a solo monologue written and performed by Fabrice Yvanoff Sénat, marking his debut as a playwright. The piece traces the journey of a young man born in Port-au-Prince, raised in Repentigny, and captivated by Paris — three places, three chapters of life, one persistent sense of displacement.

Through a register that moves between humour, intimate confession, and deliberate discomfort, Fabrice transforms shame, pain, and the experience of otherness into material for laughter and reflection. Humour functions here as both a survival tool and a means of reclaiming one's own story, particularly when shaped by separation from a parent at age three.

The production is co-directed by Maxime Mompérousse — writer and director of Hégémonie — and Émanuel Frappier, who is also directing Homme doux by Mathieu Gosselin for Le Carrousel this season.

Fabrice Yvanoff Sénat is a stage and screen actor recently seen in the film Le dernier repas directed by Maryse Legagneur, and in Robert Lepage's production of Macbeth. Performances run Monday to Thursday at 19:00 and Friday at 20:00, from November 23 to December 11, 2026, on the La Petite Licorne stage.
