The Nutcracker 2026-2027 is a holiday ballet staged in Montreal, Canada, returning from December 5 to 30, 2026. It is the kind of seasonal outing many people plan around each winter, and it brings together a familiar story with live music and a festive stage.
What to expect
The production is built around Tchaikovsky's well-loved score, which is performed as the backbone of the evening. The storytelling is meant to feel enchanting, and the show leans into festive spectacle, so the visit suits anyone who enjoys dance, music or a sense of occasion. It is a fitting choice for a winter evening out.
Who it suits
- Families looking for a holiday tradition to share with children.
- Ballet lovers who want to see a classic work in the season it is most often performed.
- Visitors seeking winter atmosphere in the city during December.
Planning your visit
Because the run is limited to the last weeks of December 2026, the show fits best into a trip timed for the holiday period. Montreal is a city that rewards a winter stay, and a performance of this kind pairs well with an evening walk, a meal out or time spent exploring the neighbourhoods around the venue. Check the run dates before you travel, as they are fixed to the season.
