Austentatious: An Improvised Jane Austen Novel is a comedy theatre show in which performers build a new Jane Austen-style novel on the spot. The format is improvised, so each evening takes its own shape, with the cast working from audience suggestions. The humour is the main draw: the show plays with the manners, romance and drawing-room tone of Austen's world, and it lands best for anyone who enjoys witty, quick-footed theatre.
What to expect
- A live improvised performance, with a new story created for each show
- Comedy throughout, in a style that suits a relaxed night out
- A format that rewards a little familiarity with Austen, though no prior reading is needed to enjoy the laughs
