British singer-songwriter Blanco White returns to DR Koncerthuset on 1 March 2027, following a well-received appearance at NorthSide 2024. His music fuses British folk song with the rhythmic intensity of flamenco, creating a distinctive sound that sets him apart in the contemporary singer-songwriter landscape.
Born Josh Edwards, Blanco White spent part of his childhood travelling in South America, studied Spanish at university and trained in flamenco guitar in Cádiz. He also travelled to Bolivia to learn the charango, a South American stringed instrument. His artist name pays homage to Spanish writer José María Blanco White.
His 2023 album "Tarifa", released on the Nettwerk label, showcases new compositional and atmospheric dimensions of his songwriting — drawing comparisons to artists such as Feist and Sufjan Stevens. Two new tracks, "Fish in the Reeds" and "So Certain (Something Reminds Me)", appeared in 2025, hinting at further creative development to be heard at this concert.
