WU LYF in Concert

WU LYF return to Denmark for a show at Pumpehuset on 29 September 2026, bringing material from their second album 'A Wave That Will Never Break', released on 16 April 2026 — fifteen years after their debut.

The Manchester band burst onto the indie scene in 2011 with a distinctive sound moving between riff-driven indie rock and soulful ballads, fronted by the expressive Ellery Roberts. Their dramatic visual identity — masks, a crucifix-like logo and cryptic imagery — attracted attention from Pitchfork, NME and The New York Times, and a ferociously intense performance on Late Show with David Letterman became the stuff of legend.

As suddenly as they appeared, the band withdrew from public life in late 2012 as Roberts struggled with sudden fame. They returned in April 2025 with the single 'A New Life Is Coming' — their first in 13 years — before releasing the full album. Pitchfork called it 'a great second album' and NME hailed them as 'Manchester indie heroes'.

In a move consistent with their independent ethos, the album is not available on streaming platforms and can only be purchased via Bandcamp or their own site worldunite.org. The band played two acclaimed shows at Spillestedet Stengade in March 2026; the Pumpehuset date offers another opportunity to see them live.
