Julia Fischer and Yulianna Avdeeva — two internationally celebrated soloists — join forces for an evening of violin sonatas in The Queen's Hall at The Black Diamond. The programme pairs works by Handel and Respighi with Beethoven, presenting a broad sweep of the duo sonata repertoire.
Julia Fischer has been one of the world's foremost violinists since claiming first prize at the International Yehudi Menuhin Competition in 1995. She has collaborated with the Vienna Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic and the New York Philharmonic, and is equally admired as a pianist and teacher. In 2010 she founded the Julia Fischer Quartet, which she continues to tour with.
Yulianna Avdeeva won the Gold Medal at the 2010 International Chopin Piano Competition, propelling her to major international stages. She performs regularly at the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin, the Vienna Konzerthaus and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, appearing both as a soloist and chamber musician with orchestras including the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal and the Dresden Philharmonic.
The concert begins at 19:30 and runs approximately two hours.
