The Pickers - Film Screening

This Médecins du Monde event presents the documentary film The Pickers (Les Cueilleurs), running 1 hour 20 minutes, which follows the lives of migrant agricultural workers in the fields of Europe.

The film centres on Seydou, from Mali, who picks oranges in southern Italy without a contract, paid by the crate and living in a self-built shelter with no water or electricity. It also explores the broader picture: blueberry picking in Portugal, olives in Greece, strawberries in Spain — over two million migrants work in European fields.

Following the screening, a discussion will be held with the Médecins du Monde team from their programme supporting precarious agricultural workers active in the Lunel and Mauguio areas.
