The Chains originated as a one-off tribute to Terry Hall's contribution to ska music, but the chemistry between the players made it clear after a memorial concert at Loppen that the project had to continue.
The band brings together musicians from several generations of the Danish ska and reggae scene, including members from Leo & The Lineup, The Courettes, Napoleon Solo, Von Dü and Fall Back Down, combining decades of experience from both the Danish and international music worlds.
Though rooted in a love of Terry Hall and The Specials, The Chains quickly began writing original material. Their debut album 'Crying On The Dancefloor' (2024) and follow-up 'Be Careful What You Wish For' (2026) have attracted attention well beyond Denmark's borders and established them among the most discussed names on the contemporary international ska scene.
On stage they fuse classic two-tone ska, reggae and soul with sharp arrangements and an infectious joy of playing — music made to be played loud, shared and danced to.
