Under the title 'The Caribbean Connection', Caribbean trumpeter and composer Étienne Charles teams up with DR Big Band for an evening of grooves, warm rhythms and infectious energy blending Creole, Caribbean and American musical influences.
This marks Étienne Charles's first solo headline appearance at DR Koncerthuset. He leads the band himself on trumpet and vocals, having arranged all the music for the occasion — a fusion of Caribbean sounds and modern jazz drawing on material from his latest album with Creole Orchestra as well as previous collaborations with DR Big Band.
Cuban percussionist Eliel Lazo joins as special guest, bringing explosive percussive energy to the stage in Studie 2.
