Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Ryan Beatty makes his first appearance in Denmark at DR Koncerthuset's Studie 2. His music is rooted in organic singer-songwriter craft with melodic R&B influences, featuring lush string arrangements and unexpected compositional turns.
Beatty first gained wider recognition in 2017 through collaborations with hip-hop collective Brockhampton, appearing on their 'Saturation II' and 'Saturation III' albums. He subsequently signed to Benny Blanco's label, debuted with 'Boys in Jeans' in 2018, and collaborated with Tyler, The Creator and Kevin Abstract before releasing 'Dreaming of David' in 2020.
His third studio album, 'Calico' (2023), produced with Ethan Gruska (known for his work with Phoebe Bridgers), earned widespread acclaim from outlets including Soundvenue, DIY Mag and The Guardian, with the latter describing it as already feeling like a classic. Soundvenue drew comparisons to Frank Ocean's 'Blonde'.
This Copenhagen show marks Beatty's return to live performance after a period of rest, ahead of anticipated new music.
