Reading Salon invites everyone to set aside their screens and spend ninety minutes immersed in reading inside the beautiful, historic Old Reading Room at The Black Diamond. The event is free to attend, with a limited number of seats allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open half an hour before the start.
Quiet Baroque music is played throughout the session to aid concentration and create a calm atmosphere. Participants are encouraged to bring their own book; those looking for inspiration can browse the shelves in the Old Reading Room or visit the Black Diamond's bookshop. Drinks are available for purchase at the bar near the entrance.
Reading Salon is part of an ongoing 2026 series at the Royal Danish Library dedicated to providing much-needed reading breaks in an age of constant screen time.
