Prelude to Drama in the Diamond

Held on the Blixen stage at The Black Diamond, this annual pass-only prelude invites audiences behind the scenes of the dramaturgical process that powers Drama in the Diamond.

A panel discussion brings together invited researchers, playwrights and performing artists to examine why classical dramatic works continue to resonate — and how they can be reinterpreted for today's audiences. The conversation is anchored in a selected dramatic classic alongside contributions from new playwright voices.

The discussion is moderated by Lise Bach Hansen, Head of Literature & Talks at the Royal Danish Library.

Taking place immediately before the adjacent performance in the Queen's Hall, the prelude is designed to enrich the audience's experience of the staged reading that follows. The featured plays are drawn from the Royal Danish Library's collection of over 18,000 dramatic works.

The full programme will be announced on an ongoing basis. Access is limited to annual pass holders.
