Merci d'être venus

Merci d'être venus is a solo theatre piece set in a neighbourhood resto-bar, in which the actor addresses the topic of suicide — specifically his brother's death fifteen years prior — with humour and unflinching honesty. Moving between anger, incomprehension and guilt, he pieces together the story of the brother who was his hero.

As he recounts this loss, the performer gradually reveals his own story: a life spent repairing the damage, living for two, performing joy in his brother's honour. Aware of his relationship with the audience and the theatrical frame around him, he uses the stage to stage the final conversation he never had.

The piece blends autofiction, intervention theatre and stand-up comedy into a unique hybrid form, aiming to open up dialogue around suicide and give voice to those left behind. The show is produced by Le Complexe and presented at the Grande Salle of Salle Pauline-Julien at 20:00.
