Mercedess brings her second album, I'd love to be a star, but I'm tired as fuck, to the Ideal Bar stage at VEGA in Copenhagen. The record explores themes of depression, burnout and the pressure of constant self-presentation, blending a cappella moments, heavy 808s and intimate confessions into a dark alt-pop sound.
The album, released on May 15, earned a five-star review from Soundvenue, which praised Mercedess for capturing the exhaustion of the burnout generation while playfully mixing organic and electronic elements in a brave alt-pop universe.
Mercedess first broke through with her P3 Uundgåelige single "Obvious" in 2022, followed by a second P3 highlight with the Prisma collaboration "Bangs". Her sound draws comparisons to early Billie Eilish and Lorde.
