Amager Bio hosts the Mega Ball on 12 September 2026 — a grand folk music and folk dance celebration marking the 10th anniversary of Mads Hansens Kapel, presented in collaboration with Tempi and Nordisk Dans.
The evening programme sees Mads Hansens Kapel take the stage alongside a distinguished roster of guest musicians: Signe Kierkgaard Schmidt, Poul Bjerager, Rune Barslund, Clara Tesch, Mette Kathrine Jensen Stærk, Mads Kjøller, Kristine Heebøll, Arendse Nordtorp Pedersen, Magnus Heebøll, Henriette Ambæk Flach, Kristian Bugge, and Sofie Bollen. The dancefloor is open to all attendees throughout the night.
The afternoon features a folk dance programme including talks, panel discussions, and a folk dance workshop. Participating organisations and practitioners active in contemporary folk dance contexts will be present, offering insight into the breadth of settings in which the tradition thrives today.
