Young Georgian pianist Giorgi Gigashvili takes to The Queen's Hall at The Black Diamond for an ambitious solo recital spanning several centuries of keyboard writing. The programme highlights the Mendelssohn siblings, the Schumann couple and Sergei Prokofiev's celebrated 'War Sonata', offering a wide emotional and stylistic range within a single evening.
Born in Tbilisi in 2000, Gigashvili has emerged rapidly as one of Europe's most compelling young pianists. He was nominated as an ECHO Rising Star 2025/26 by the European Concert Hall Organisation and took first prize at the Vigo International Piano Competition in 2019. His critically acclaimed 2023 album Meeting my Shadow featured music by Beethoven and Messiaen, and a further album of Prokofiev is due in 2026.
Gigashvili performs on some of the continent's most prestigious stages, including the Barbican Centre in London, the Philharmonie de Paris and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. The recital begins at 19:30 and lasts approximately two hours.
