Mardi Crafty is a weekly introductory workshop series at Halle Tropisme, hosted by artists from the resident studios. This edition focuses on embroidery on photographs, led by textile artist Judith Vittet.
Starting from a black-and-white photograph provided on the day, participants learn foundational embroidery stitches and decorate their image with coloured threads — using backstitch, French knots, bullion stitch and couching stitch. It is possible to bring your own B&W photo or send it by email or WhatsApp at least 48 hours before the session.
The workshop is open to all ages and all levels — beginners are welcome and the work is adapted to each participant's skill level. A warm or cold drink is offered to all attendees. The atmosphere is warm and informal.
