Pierre Lapointe brings his latest show, "Les Chansons démodées pour ceux qui ont le cœur abimé", inspired by his most recent album, to Salle Pauline-Julien. The performance is an intimate, stripped-back affair featuring piano four-hands at its centre, with Lapointe accompanied by the Fortin-Poirier duo, with musical arrangements by Amélie Fortin.
The album and show draw inspiration from the great names of French-language song — Claude Léveillée, Barbara, Léo Ferré, Jacques Brel and Charles Aznavour — while weaving in new compositions. Lapointe sought to create songs with a contemporary feel yet a timeless quality, described as having "a perfume of eternity."
Over a 20-year career, Pierre Lapointe has released 16 albums including around a dozen of original material, created as many original stage productions, and collaborated with internationally renowned artists from the worlds of contemporary art, classical music, and popular music. Several of his albums are gold and platinum certified, with nearly one million copies sold worldwide.
