Australian singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin makes her first Danish appearance since 2019 at DR Koncerthuset's Studie 2 on 24 February 2027. Her music occupies the space between indie rock, organic folk and confessional singer-songwriter, drawing comparisons to artists such as Fiona Apple, Anna Calvi and Angel Olsen.
Jacklin debuted in 2016 with "Don't Let the Kids Win" on the UK indie label Transgressive, earning praise from The Guardian, Mojo and Under The Radar. Her 2019 follow-up "Crushing" cemented her reputation with personal lyrics and strong melodies, receiving five-star reviews from Soundvenue for her Lille Vega show that year. Her third album "Pre Pleasure" drew acclaim from Paste Magazine, Pitchfork and Uncut.
Her most recent album, "The Gem", was self-produced in collaboration with Robert Muinos and explores the tension between love and freedom. Standout tracks include "Get Away From Me (I Think I'll Love You Soon)" and "I Wish" featuring The Maes.
Jacklin has been a rare visitor to Denmark, with previous appearances at Roskilde Festival in 2017 (four stars from GAFFA) and Lille Vega in 2019. This Studie 2 concert is a welcome return for one of indie's most compelling voices.
