Hannah Schneider brings her work In This Room to Studie 3, where the piece is unfolded in a new space and interwoven with music from across her wider catalogue.
In This Room was composed during Schneider's residency at Thorvaldsens Museum in Copenhagen, where the ancient sculptures and historic rooms directly shaped the composition and its soundscape. The result weaves violins and cellos in and out of electronics and synthesisers, blending the distant past with a very contemporary melancholy — described by critic Erik Jensen as 'infinitely beautiful in all its ink-black mood' and awarded five stars by GAFFA. The album's release was celebrated with two sold-out concerts at the museum itself.
Joining Schneider on stage are string trio Toechter, pianist Christian Balvig and multi-instrumentalist Sven Meinild, creating an intimate and layered sonic environment.
Hannah Schneider has released several critically lauded solo albums, toured across Europe and the USA, and created works for leading cultural institutions in Denmark.
