Guided Tour on the History of Fashion in Montreal - UQAM School of Fashion — 26 September

UQAM's School of Fashion presents a 4-kilometre guided walking tour spanning 3 hours, tracing the history of fashion in Montreal through the architectural and urban landscape of the Latin Quarter, Old Montreal, and downtown. The route includes 10 stops and covers themes ranging from the fur trade and the golden age of Saint-Denis Street designers, to the origins of brands like Reitmans and Canadelle, the influence of Expo '67 on Montreal's global fashion image, Sainte-Catherine Street department stores, and the industrial era of Saint-Laurent Boulevard.

Normally reserved for UQAM students, this activity is open to the general public for the first time during Montreal Fashion Week 2026. The aim is to anchor fashion history within the city's cultural and urban fabric in an engaging and accessible format.

Two sessions are available: morning (9:00–12:15) and afternoon (13:00–16:15). Tours are conducted exclusively in French and will proceed rain or shine. Registration is required via the JotForm link.
