Gardens of Light returns for its 14th edition, inviting visitors to explore three illuminated cultural gardens at the Jardin Botanique de Montréal after dark. Timed entry tickets are required, but once inside, guests are free to wander the approximately 2 km route through the gardens at their own pace, allowing between 1.5 and 2 hours to complete the experience.
In the Japanese Garden, the installation Yūgen draws on the Japanese aesthetic concept of the same name, combining a monumental projection with artistic illumination across the pine grove to highlight the subtle beauty of nature.
The Indigenous Peoples Garden celebrates its 25th anniversary with a completely reimagined experience called Resonance. Developed in collaboration with Indigenous artists, the journey unfolds across five interconnected scenes exploring the bonds between people, generations, and the land.
The Chinese Garden brings the visit to a close with Shan Hai Jing, inspired by the foundational Chinese mythological text of the same name. Iconic lanterns reflected in the Dream Lake, legendary creatures, and symbolic landscapes are enhanced this year by a new multimedia layer of visuals and sound.
The Gardens of Light ticket also grants access to the Jardin Botanique for the full day, so visitors can explore the outdoor gardens and greenhouses before nightfall. Food and beverages are available on site during evening hours. The illuminated route can be entered via the main Jardin Botanique entrance or through the Insectarium entrance.
