Nordkraft Big Band, led by conductor Peter Jensen, presents a concert centred on the poetry of Tom Kristensen — one of Denmark's most celebrated writers. The programme draws primarily from Kristensen's collection 'Fribytterdrømme', tracing a wandering soul's odyssey through Copenhagen's 1920s–30s nightlife: its rowdy taverns, smoky cafés and the jazz age that defined that era.
The music is composed by Bjarne Sahl and arranged by Peter Jensen. Vocalist Sinne Eeg — widely regarded as Denmark's foremost jazz singer — joins alongside actor Jesper Lohmann, who brings the literary dimension of Kristensen's verse to life on stage.
Nordkraft Big Band gained international recognition when the ensemble, together with chief conductor Remy Le Boeuf, won a Grammy in 2026 for Best Instrumental Composition — the first time a North Jutland ensemble has held that title.
