Forgotten Women Who Changed Danish History

This special Fireside Talk brings together Margrethe Vestager and historian Gry Jexen for an evening of conversation moderated by Natasja Crone, focusing on the women — celebrated, overlooked and ordinary — who helped shape Denmark's history.

The event was originally announced as a talk titled 'The Future Is Up for Negotiation' featuring Vestager and architect Bjarke Ingels. Following Ingels's withdrawal, the programme was revised; tickets purchased for the original event remain valid.

Vestager draws on her own experience of acting with conviction, holding firm under pressure, and leaving a lasting mark beyond herself. Gry Jexen brings expertise from her award-winning bestselling book and podcast 'Kvinde kend din historie' ('Woman, Know Your History'), showing how historical courage and agency speak directly to working life today.

Moderated by Natasja Crone, the conversation moves between the historical and the personal, ensuring that both Vestager's own stories and the forgotten women's histories receive the depth and challenge they deserve. The evening promises both laughter and reflection.
