DR Pigekorets Jul is one of the highlights of the year at DR Koncerthuset, bringing together choral tradition and contemporary presentation in a visually rich and musically immersive Christmas experience. Since 1938, DR Pigekoret has invited Danish audiences into the world of Christmas music each year, and in recent years the concerts have evolved into a fully staged musical event spanning multiple generations.
The programme explores Christmas music and traditions with curiosity, weaving them into a modern, staged musical narrative that places festive symbols and customs in a present-day context. The concerts are presented across three performances: an evening show on Saturday 12 December at 18:30, a matinée on Sunday 13 December at 13:00, and an evening show on Monday 14 December at 18:30.
This year's cast includes DR Pigekoret, singers from DR Børnekoret and DR Juniorkoret, conductors Charlotte Rowan and Susanne Wendt, and additional musical guests to be announced closer to the concerts. The event is suitable for the whole family, with a minimum age of 6 years.
