The fifth of six concerts in the Beethoven cycle at The Black Diamond sees Quatuor Ébène perform String Quartets Nos. 2, 16 and 14 in the Queen's Hall. This Saturday afternoon matinée pairs with the previous evening's concert to form the second weekend of the series.
Quatuor Ébène, formed in 1999 in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, has performed Beethoven's string quartets at Philharmonie de Paris, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Wigmore Hall and Carnegie Hall. The quartet considers the string quartet to be a democratic musical form in which shared attention and interplay between musicians shape the collective outcome.
The concert runs approximately two hours. Tickets are available through the Royal Danish Library's online booking system.
