Sustainable Fashion Contest - Core Fabrics

Core Fabrics launches its first Sustainable Fashion Contest during Montreal Fashion Week 2026, celebrating independent Quebec designers who integrate ecological vision with practical feasibility in their collections and projects.

Through July 19, independent fashion and accessory designers in Quebec were invited to submit applications showcasing concrete eco-design initiatives carried out in 2025 and 2026. Key partners include Fashion Takes Action, CSMO Textile, and Cirque du Soleil, which chairs the judging panel and contributes to the Innovation Award.

On Monday, September 21 starting at 5 p.m., three winners are recognised with $1,000 scholarships each across the following awards: the Sustainable Sourcing Award (sponsored by Core Fabrics), the Innovation Award (presented by Cirque du Soleil), the Social Impact Award (sponsored by Rรฉgitex), and a Consumer Award offering a free loft-style booth at the SMAQ Christmas fair (provided by the Conseil des mรฉtiers d'art du Quรฉbec).

The jury also benefits from the expertise of Ariane Brunet, a renowned sustainable designer, alongside other circular economy specialists.
