Sara Curruchich: Latin American Folk Concert

Sara Curruchich, one of Guatemala's most internationally celebrated artists, brings her powerful and moving live show to ALICE. She is the first artist to bring the Indigenous Mayan language Kaqchikel to major stages worldwide, blending ancestral traditions with cumbia, reggae, rock, chacarera and son jarocho in warm, organic arrangements.

Drawing on her own experiences as a Maya woman, Curruchich writes and sings with honesty about racism, patriarchal oppression and discrimination, while her music also radiates hope and a deep commitment to dignity, diversity and solidarity โ€” particularly with Indigenous peoples and Latin America's LGBTQ+ communities.

Her artistic activism has earned her an appointment as Ambassador for UN Women's Fund for Gender Equality in Central America. She has performed at SXSW, Folk Alliance, Calgary Folk Festival and Colours of Ostrava with her four-piece all-female band, who accompany her for this Copenhagen appearance.

Tickets are available via the ALICE ticket portal.
