Swiss-Moroccan multi-instrumentalist and producer Sami Galbi brings his trio to ALICE this October for a concert that bridges North African folk traditions and contemporary club culture. Drawing on his childhood immersion in the working-class genres raï and chaâbi, and his deep love of electronic music, Galbi crafts a pulsating, futuristic sound built from drum machines, synths, guitar effects, and distortion — while keeping the underlying melodies and stories intact.
His debut album YLH BYEBYE (Bongo Joe Records, 2025), produced by Galbi himself and mixed by Tunisian producer Ammar 808, has earned widespread critical acclaim including praise from The New York Times and Buzz Magazine. The record quickly established him as a new audience favourite.
For this ALICE performance, Galbi will be joined by Inès Mouzoune (formerly of AMAMI, Baby Volcano, and Rôshani) and drummer and percussionist Yann Hünziker. The concert takes place before Galbi heads on to the biggest stages.
