Saxophonist Sam Gendel and bassist Sam Wilkes โ two of the most adventurous voices on the Los Angeles experimental jazz scene โ join forces for a live performance at DR Koncerthuset's Studie 2.
Both artists have established themselves as central figures in the LA scene alongside names such as Kamasi Washington, Thundercat and Flying Lotus. Gendel moves fluidly between saxophone and electronic textures via his wind controller and has collaborated with Ry Cooder, Laurie Anderson and Moses Sumney. Wilkes brings a deep grounding in funk and R&B and works additionally as a producer, arranger and composer.
Together they cultivate a unique musical space defined by intimacy, playfulness and a spirit of adventure, blending jazz, ambient, soul and rhythmic experimentation into a constantly evolving sound.
