Reading Salon invites visitors to spend ninety minutes of uninterrupted, screen-free reading in the beautiful and historic Old Reading Room at The Black Diamond. Doors open half an hour before the session begins, at 16:00.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own book, though the shelves of the Old Reading Room offer reading inspiration for those without one, and the venue's bookshop stocks a selection available to purchase.
Baroque music is played softly throughout the session to aid concentration and create a calm atmosphere. The event is free to attend, with seats allocated on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited capacity.
Drinks can be purchased at the bar near the entrance to the Old Reading Room. The session is part of a series of reading salon events taking place throughout 2026.
