Reading Room 4:6

Reading Room 4:6 is a ninety-minute communal reading session hosted by the Royal Danish Library in the beautiful and historic Old Reading Room at The Black Diamond. Participants are invited to switch off their phones, bring a book of their choice, and enjoy an uninterrupted period of quiet reading.

Baroque music plays softly throughout the session to help promote focus and concentration, replacing the usual distraction of screens with the atmosphere of turning pages. The event is free to attend, with seating allocated on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited capacity.

Doors open half an hour before the session begins. Drinks are available for purchase at the bar in front of the Old Reading Room entrance. Visitors who need reading material can browse the shelves in the Old Reading Room or visit The Black Diamond's bookshop.

This event is part of an ongoing series running throughout 2026, offering regular opportunities for screen-free reading breaks in one of Copenhagen's most atmospheric settings.
