On October 11, 2026, My New Band Believe visits Spillestedet Stengade in Copenhagen. The band is led by Cameron Picton, formerly the bassist and sometime frontman of black midi. The show is sold out.
The group's debut album 'My New Band Believe' was released through Rough Trade Records on April 10, 2026. The record is described as a massive and hallucinatory collection of music that moves through wildly different emotional registers, driven by Picton's charismatic but unreliable narration.
The album features an ensemble cast including Kiran Leonard, Caius Williams, Steve Noble and Andrew Cheetham. Picton has described the record as an attempt to reinvent what a modern singer-songwriter album could sound like, giving weight to small moments and making the big feel real.
The project emerged after black midi called it quits in 2023, with Picton entering the studio from a position between team player and bandleader, gradually developing the sound that became My New Band Believe.
