Sunday 20 September 2026 is entirely dedicated to children and their families as part of Music Festival Days in The Black Diamond. Admission is free for children, and the day runs from 10:00 to 15:00.
This year's theme is 'Around the World in Classical Music'. The programme includes concerts and workshops across the Queen's Hall and the Children's Library โ the Royal Danish Library's dedicated space for young visitors, which is open every Sunday.
Highlights include the Little Composers project, which is built on the idea that anyone can compose music, and an 'around the world' concert featuring Mathias Hammer and Trio con Brio Copenhagen. A further concert brings together Michala Petri, NOVO Quartet, and Xu Qiling from China, who performs on the erhu, a traditional Chinese string instrument.
Throughout the day, a series of short pop-up performances will be given by Xu Ziling, Michala Petri, Anna Klett, and Soo-Jin and Soo-Kyung Hong, each playing a different instrument and offering children an intimate encounter with live classical music.
