AfroVizyon is a newly formed Montpellier-based collective bringing together three DJs united by a love of Afro-diasporic music and vinyl: SSCK, Andao and Gong. For their first Mercredizm session at Halle Tropisme, all three will take turns behind the decks in a B2B2B format, weaving a seamless sonic journey across the breadth of Black Atlantic music cultures.
Expect a wide-ranging selection from collector rarities to recent releases, spanning genres including Kompa, Cadence, Afro-Funk, Semba, Gwoka, Afrobeat, Latin House, Salsa, Soukous, Loketo, Dancehall, Boogie, Hip-Hop and more โ travelling from the African continent to the Caribbean and through 90s hip-hop.
SSCK is a co-founder of the Mawimbi collective and a versatile DJ and producer whose sets move between tropical and synthetic sounds, from Antillean cadence to Nigerian juju and Congolese soukous. He also performs as a musician in jazz-ambient group MAรT. Andao is a vinyl-dedicated selector whose mixed heritage (Rรฉunion, Senegal, Vietnam) shapes a generous, humanist approach to Afro music, from Mbalax and Afrobeat to Drill, Afro House and Maloya. Since 2024 she hosts the Andao Airlines show on RPH radio.
