Francine Ruel brings La Colombe, le pigeon et moi to the Amphithéâtre stage at Le Gesù in Montreal on 17 November at 20:00.
The piece unfolds like a picture book being paged through. Franchon, aged 7, holds the hand of Francine, aged 77, as the two set out to find the father who flew away and the warm-hearted mother, the Colombe, who is brave and a little wild.
Set to the sound of tango, the story moves between laughter and emotion, weaving together memories, secrets and passion. It is inspired by the stories Ma mère est un flamant rose and Mon père est un pigeon voyageur, and offers a gentle way of rocking one's childhood once more and saying goodbye to it with a smile.
