The Chapelle du domaine de Grammont is a neo-Gothic chapel built between 1895 and 1897 by diocesan architect Pierre Arribat, commissioned as part of the bequest of Étienne Bouisson-Bertrand and his wife Amélie to the Faculty of Medicine of Montpellier.
Inside, the tomb of the Bouisson-Bertrand spouses rests in front of the altar, bearing Latin inscriptions from the Psalms and Saint Paul. The Institut Bouisson-Bertrand later conducted medical research on the premises, and a preventorium run by the Daughters of Charity operated there from 1921.
The chapel is renowned for its stained glass windows by Charles Champigneulle, which depict prominent members of the Academy of Medicine of the University of Montpellier using an integrated photo technique.
Since 2000, the chapel has been entrusted to a French-speaking parish of the Greek Orthodox Church of France and is dedicated to Saint Philothea of Athens. Its interior Orthodox arrangements were designed by Georges Xénakis.
The City of Montpellier has owned the domain since 1979 and has developed it as a social and community space, including the Astérix aerated centre.
