Aïta Mon Amour brings their acclaimed fusion of Morocco's ancient aïta blues tradition and contemporary electronic production to ALICE in Copenhagen. The duo — consisting of rap pioneer Widad Mjama and Arab electronic music luminary Khalil Epi — draws on the centuries-old aïta form, historically carried by independent female singers known as the chikhates, weaving Mjama's powerful vocals and rhythmic spoken word with Epi's pulsating basslines and organic electronic textures.
Their debut album Abda, rooted in Morocco's Abda region, has earned them a reputation as one of the most captivating live acts on the international world-music and electronic scene. After touring extensively around the globe, the duo arrives in Nørrebro for what promises to be an immersive and liberating live experience.
Opening the evening is 3Phaz, who will deliver a deconstructed shaabi set.
