18th Century Public Market

Now in its 33rd edition, the 18th Century Public Market transforms the outdoor grounds of the museum at 350 Place Royale, Old Montrรฉal, into a vivid recreation of a French Regime-era market day on August 29 (10 amโ€“7 pm) and August 30 (10 amโ€“6 pm), 2026.

Period craftspeople including a stonemason, weaver, blacksmith and wood turner demonstrate their trades, while Indigenous artisans share traditional knowledge and lead dreamcatcher-making activities.

A military encampment brings further historical atmosphere, with marches, live-fire exercises and fencing demonstrations suitable for all ages.

Admission is free. The event is part of the Summer on the Pointe 2026 outdoor programme.
