This event takes place at the Domaine de Méric — the very estate where Frédéric Bazille painted his celebrated 1867 family portrait "La réunion de Famille" — making it a uniquely site-specific experience.
The programme begins with a demonstration of ballroom dancing as practised in 1867, performed by members representing the Bazille family, mirroring the composition of the original painting.
After the demonstration, visitors are invited to participate in the animated dances themselves, turning the heritage moment into an interactive experience.
The event runs for only 15 minutes (14:30–14:45) and takes place on Sunday 20 September 2026 as part of the European Heritage Days.
