La Tène is a French-Swiss sextet whose music sits between the psychedelic and the primitive, and between minimalism and sheer sonic overload. Their instruments include cabrette and bagpipes, guitar, bass, drums, harmonium and electronics.
The band's sound combines folk, noise, dub and hypnotic minimalism, built on repetition in which small musical figures are repeated, shifted and amplified until they gain physical force. Since their debut album ten years ago they have grown from a trio into a sextet and released four albums, which publications such as The Quietus and The Wire have named among their albums of the year.
In November they will perform material from their three most recent albums. The concert is presented by Final Descent and ALICE and supported by Nørrebro Local Committee.
