La Réunion et Maurice - Charles Domingue

Charles Domingue presents a colourful journey to the two Indian Ocean islands known as the "sister islands" — Réunion and Mauritius. Though they share common roots shaped by African, European and Indian populations, one is a French overseas department while the other is an independent state.

Visitors are taken through Réunion's dramatic volcanic landscapes, twisted mountain roads, Chinese pagodas, Hindu temples and Creole houses, with the famous active volcano Piton de la Fournaise as the star attraction. Mountains rise to 3,000 metres, carved by centuries of volcanic activity.

Mauritius, 180 km to the east, enchants with its postcard-worthy tropical scenery, coral-reef lagoons and exceptional marine life. The film celebrates the cultural diversity and natural beauty shared by both islands.

Charles Domingue is a Quebec documentary filmmaker and journalist who has produced numerous documentaries and TV series across more than 65 countries over 25 years of world travel.
