The play is set in a hot, oppressive summer. Sisters Milly and Julie-Julien try to fend off boredom: Milly is fascinated by death, while Julie-Julien roams the back alleys rescuing lost cats.
Outside the corner store, Caro dreams of a different life for the baby she is carrying. At the heart of the story is a trio of women who have only love and courage to protect themselves against violence.
The piece sets a fragile but essential power against fatalism: the power to imagine, in order to survive, resist and build a more livable world. It is performed in the Salle Fred-Barry at Théâtre Denise-Pelletier as part of Festival Voix Mortes 2026.
