Bruce Cockburn, 77, performs at Le Gesù in Montreal in the Amphithéâtre room. The concert starts at 20:00.
The evening draws on his 35th album, O Sun O Moon, released on True North Records. It is his first vocal album since Bone on Bone in 2017. It opens with the song "On A Roll", in which he sings that time does its work but that he feels in great shape in spirit.
The album is his third since the publication of his memoir Rumours of Glory in 2013, after a stretch when inspiration was lacking. Its songs address political crises ("Orders") and climate change ("To Keep the World We Know", featuring Inuit-language singer Susan Aglukark). Above all they explore spiritual connection, forgiveness and love.
