Ava Rocha, a Brazilian musician, performer and filmmaker, makes her Danish debut at ALICE in Copenhagen. Her sound draws on samba, bossa and Latin American traditions, mixed with echoes of Western pop and rock.
She is regarded as a leading voice of Brazil's alternative music scene. Her most recent album is NEKTAR (2023), produced by Thiago Nassif and Jonas Sá, which was praised by The New York Times, NPR and Sounds and Colours. Iggy Pop also played her music on his BBC Radio 6 Music show.
Her live shows go beyond a standard concert, combining sound, movement, text and visuals into an intense, humorous and immersive experience. She has performed across Brazil and in the USA, China, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Portugal, Germany, Peru and Uruguay, and arrives in Copenhagen with new music and a brand-new album.
